Overview

The i-PRO NVR-RL-2-176TB-V5 is a 2U rack-mount network video recorder designed for large-scale enterprise surveillance deployments. This model houses 176TB of usable storage (11 × 16TB drives), dual Intel Xeon Silver 8-core processors, and 32GB system RAM. It fits standard 19-inch server racks with dimensions of 3.4 inches (H) × 17.5 inches (W) × 30.1 inches (D), weighing 71 pounds. The NVR-RL-2-176TB-V5 runs Windows Server 2019 Standard and ships with Video Insight Server software pre-installed and activated. It solves the retention problem in multi-camera environments: 176TB lets you store weeks or months of continuous video from dozens of cameras without rotating media or managing external archives.

Compatibility

This recorder integrates with any standard IP camera system compliant with ONVIF and supports ingest from cameras across vendor lines. The dual 1 GBE ports and dual 10 GBE SFP+ ports accommodate scaling: use 1 GBE for networks rated 300–600 Mbps recording throughput, or 10 GBE for 600–1000 Mbps deployments. Pre-installed VI Server software enables integration with Video Insight ecosystem components and third-party ONVIF-compliant management platforms. Rear drives are a special order item requiring extra configuration time. Windows Server 2019 Standard supports Microsoft Active Directory, group policy enforcement, and integration with existing enterprise infrastructure.

Installation Notes

The unit requires dual 1100W hot-swap power supplies (230V/115V switchable). Four-post side rails are included for secure rack mounting. Dual M.2 SSD drives hold the operating system in RAID 1 configuration, separate from the storage array. The 12 Gbs RAID controller (ThinkSystem 730-8i with 2GB cache) supports RAID 5 on the twelve 3.5-inch drive bays. Keyboard and mouse are not included but required for initial configuration and BIOS access. TPM 1.2 provides on-board encryption capability. This model is discontinued — no longer available from i-PRO. Support and future updates from the manufacturer are not guaranteed.
