The Axis S2216 Mk II (model 02809-004) is a 1U rack appliance that consolidates a 16-channel PoE switch, 8TB hard drive, and 16 AXIS Camera Station Pro licenses into a single integrated platform. Deploy this when you need to reduce rack footprint and installation time on mid-scale systems (16–24 camera installs) without external network switch infrastructure.
Built around an Intel Core i3 processor with 16GB DDR5 memory, the S2216 Mk II handles simultaneous live view, recording, and playback across 16 camera feeds. The 8TB surveillance-class hard drive supports extended retention for typical multi-camera workloads. FIPS 140-2 Level 2 TPM, Secure Boot, and signed firmware deliver enterprise-grade cybersecurity — a real factor if your system must meet compliance requirements or sit behind corporate security policies.
The integrated 16-channel PoE switch supplies 802.3af power to networked cameras directly from the appliance, eliminating the need for a separate patch-panel switch and reducing cable runs to your camera locations. All 16 Camera Station Pro licenses arrive preloaded, so you skip per-camera software licensing overhead.
Smart Search 2 and AI-ready architecture enable video analytics and forensic search without external compute appliances. Supports ONVIF Profile S/T for multi-vendor camera interoperability alongside native Axis integration.
Works with Axis networked cameras compliant with ONVIF Profile S/T standards, as well as native Axis camera models (P32-series domes, P35-series turrets, P36-series boxes, and other current-generation surveillance cameras). Qualified for up to 24 video channels and 48 door access control events simultaneously, with a total recording rate capacity of 384 Mbps. Can be scaled with additional Axis S30 Recorder Series units for larger deployments. Licenses are tied to the hardware and can be upgraded separately.
