Fire & Life Safety

Commercial fire alarm and life-safety equipment for office, retail, multifamily, education, healthcare, and industrial deployments. Code-compliant initiating devices, notification appliances, and control panels — sourced direct from the manufacturer or a US channel distributor with full UL listings and AHJ documentation.

Specify a Code-Compliant System

  • Control panels — conventional zone panels for small buildings; addressable systems for multi-loop deployments, healthcare, education, and multi-tenant retrofits.
  • Initiating devices — photoelectric, ionization, dual-sensor smoke; fixed and rate-of-rise heat; CO; manual pull stations; duct detectors.
  • Notification appliances — horn-strobes, speaker-strobes, mini-horns, chimes with synchronized signaling and ADA candela ratings.
  • Monitor and control modules — for waterflow, tamper, door-hold, elevator recall, and integration with access-control egress.
  • Sprinkler monitoring — waterflow and tamper switches connecting wet/dry/pre-action systems to the FACP per NFPA 72.

Fire Alarm Panels
Conventional and addressable control panels — single-loop to multi-loop systems with voice evacuation and network annunciation.
Smoke Detectors
Photoelectric, ionization, and dual-sensor detectors — addressable and conventional, with sensitivity drift compensation on listed models.
Heat Detectors
Fixed-temperature and rate-of-rise heat detectors for environments where smoke detection isn't appropriate — kitchens, garages, attics.
CO Detectors
Listed CO sensors for residential and commercial occupancies — addressable models integrate directly into the FACP for monitored response.
Duct Detectors
HVAC duct-mount smoke detectors with sampling tubes — required by NFPA 90A for air-handling units above the airflow threshold.
Pull Stations
Single- and dual-action manual pull stations — addressable and conventional, with key reset and tamper-resistant covers available.
Notification Appliances
Horn-strobes, speaker-strobes, mini-horns, and chimes — synchronized signaling per NFPA 72 with ADA-compliant candela ratings.
Fire Alarm Modules
Monitor, control, relay, and isolator modules for addressable loops — connect waterflow, tamper, door-hold, and elevator recall.
Detector Bases & Accessories
Standard bases, sounder bases, relay bases, and isolator bases — plus tools, covers, and replacement parts to maintain installed systems.
Sprinkler Monitoring
Waterflow switches, tamper switches, and pressure supervisory devices — UL-listed for connection to FACP monitor modules.

Specifier FAQ

What NFPA codes apply to my building?
NFPA 72 governs alarm system installation, testing, and inspection. NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code) drives notification, egress, and detector placement based on occupancy classification (assembly, business, educational, healthcare, mercantile, residential, industrial). Your local AHJ may also enforce state amendments. When in doubt, consult the AHJ before specifying panels or notification.
Conventional vs addressable — which do I need?
Conventional zone systems work well for small buildings (under 20,000 sq ft) where zone-level granularity is sufficient and budget is the driver. Addressable systems identify each device individually — required by most modern building codes for buildings over a certain size or occupancy type, and standard for multi-tenant retrofits, healthcare, and education. Addressable also simplifies testing, maintenance, and false-alarm troubleshooting.
Where do I need CO detection?
Code requirements vary by state and occupancy. Generally: residential dwelling units with fuel-burning appliances or attached garages, transient occupancies (hotels), and some commercial buildings with combustion sources. CO detectors near sleeping areas are the most common requirement — check your local amendments to NFPA 720 and IRC.
How is fire alarm integrated with access control?
On alarm, the fire system sends a signal to the access-control panel to release locked egress doors (door-hold-open or unlock) along required egress paths. Implementation uses a monitored relay output from the FACP wired to the access controller's auxiliary input, plus an addressable monitor module on the loop. Lifesafety Power FlexPower and similar supervised supplies coordinate the handoff.
What's the typical lead time on fire panels?
Stock items — pull stations, common notification appliances, basic conventional panels — typically ship same business day or 2-3 weeks depending on configuration. Configured addressable panels, large-loop systems, and special-order items typically run 2-6 weeks from the manufacturer. Submit your project bill of materials via the contact form for a precise lead time.

Working on a fire-system project?

Our Senior Specialist team has working integrators who specify and commission commercial fire-alarm systems daily. Send your project documents — panel selection, device count, code authority — and we'll route the bill of materials and lead times back to you.
