The Legrand 364827V5 is a 5-pair pack of gold-plated banana plugs designed for secure, reliable audio and video signal transmission. These connectors are essential for terminating speaker wire or other audio cables, providing a clean and robust connection point for amplifiers, receivers, or custom AV installations. Their gold plating offers superior conductivity and corrosion resistance, ensuring signal integrity over time, particularly in environments where moisture or oxidation could be a concern. This pack is suited for professional AV integrators and serious home theater enthusiasts who require dependable termination for multiple speaker runs.
These banana plugs are designed to accept standard gauge speaker wire (typically 12-18 AWG). They are compatible with binding posts found on most AV receivers, amplifiers, powered speakers, and custom AV wall plates from major manufacturers. The plug's design ensures a firm mechanical grip on the wire, preventing accidental disconnections and maintaining consistent electrical contact. They are suitable for use with systems requiring high-fidelity audio transmission where signal degradation must be minimized.
Installation requires stripping the speaker wire to expose the conductor. The wire is then inserted into the plug's barrel and secured, typically via a set screw or a crimp mechanism, depending on the specific plug design within the pack. Ensure the wire is fully seated and the connection is tight to prevent signal loss or intermittent contact. For optimal performance, use appropriate wire stripping tools and ensure no stray wire strands are present, which could cause short circuits. Gold plating necessitates careful handling to avoid scratching or contamination before final connection.
