Alarm & Intrusion Panels

Alarm and intrusion panels are the central control hub for burglar alarm systems, monitoring zones of door contacts, motion sensors, glass break detectors, and panic buttons. The panel communicates with a central station over cellular, IP, or POTS and arms/disarms via keypads, fobs, and mobile apps.

Plan Your Deployment

  • Zone count (hardwired and wireless) and expansion headroom
  • Communication path: cellular, IP (dual-path), POTS, or LTE/5G
  • Partition count for multi-tenant or mixed-use occupancies
  • User interface (keypad, touchscreen, mobile app) and user count
  • UL certification for commercial burglar, fire, and holdup signaling

What to Look For

Panel zone count should allow for 25-30% future expansion. Dual-path communication (IP primary, cellular backup) is the current best practice for UL-listed commercial signaling. Confirm central-station compatibility, dealer account setup, and remote-programming support before committing to a platform.

Common Deployment Scenarios

Intrusion panels are specified for retail, office, medical, cannabis, and residential dealers. Commercial installations often pair the intrusion panel with an access control system for unified arming and disarming based on the first/last user of the day.
