GV-DATA is a software module that binds point-of-sale transaction data to video recordings in Geovision surveillance systems. It creates a unified audit trail linking POS events (voids, refunds, discounts, employee logins) directly to synchronized video footage — the core requirement for retail loss prevention, inventory reconciliation, and incident documentation. Install this on a Geovision NVR or DVR alongside your existing POS infrastructure to correlate transaction-level forensics with visual evidence without manual log cross-referencing.
GV-DATA integrates with Geovision NVR and DVR systems running GV-VMS V20 or compatible versions. The parent VMS supports up to 256 IP channels, with 64 GeoVision device channels available unlicensed; additional channels and third-party ONVIF cameras require separate licensing. POS integration works with standard retail systems (point-of-sale terminals, payment gateways) communicating via TCP/IP or serial protocols — confirm your POS vendor's compatibility before deployment. Geovision also offers GV-Edge Recording Manager and GV-Cloud VMS as remote access endpoints if distributed monitoring is required.
GV-DATA runs on 64-bit Windows 10, 11, Server 2016, Server 2019, or Server 2022. Minimum hardware: 11th-gen Intel i7-11700 (2.5 GHz) or equivalent, 16 GB RAM (32 GB recommended for heavy transaction throughput). Network connectivity between the POS system and NVR must be stable and low-latency; packet loss or clock drift will cause event misalignment. Firewall rules must permit bi-directional communication on the ports your POS vendor specifies — typically TCP 5060–5090 or vendor-proprietary ranges. Configure time synchronization (NTP) on both the NVR and POS server to within ±1 second to guarantee forensic-grade event correlation. License activation is digital; no physical key required.
