Overview
The Geovision GV-600 is a 16-channel hybrid DVR capture card designed to integrate analog and IP-based cameras within a single recording system. Available in both PCI and PCI-E x1 form factors, it solves the staged migration problem — you can deploy it alongside existing analog CCTV infrastructure while adding IP cameras without replacing your entire DVR architecture. The GV-600 handles simultaneous analog video and audio capture (up to 4 audio channels) with H.264 compression, delivering real-time processing across mixed analog and IP streams.
Compatibility
The GV-600 integrates directly into Geovision DVR server platforms with available PCI or PCI-E x1 slots. It accepts analog composite video inputs from legacy CCTV cameras and processes IP streams within Geovision's GV-DVR software ecosystem. DVI output connects to standard displays and monitoring workstations through adapter cables. The card operates within Geovision's unified recording and playback interface, eliminating the need for separate analog-to-IP converters or external capture interfaces. Supports mixed analog and IP camera channel allocation across the 16-channel capacity.
Installation Notes
Minimum system requirements: Pentium 4 processor at 2.0 GHz or higher (CPU varies by card variant — GV-600B, GV-650B, or GV-800B determine recording rate and processor threshold), 2 GB RAM dual-channel, and Windows 7/8/8.1/10 or Server 2008+ OS (32-bit or 64-bit). Install into an available PCI or PCI-E x1 slot on the DVR motherboard. The card ships with a hardware watchdog jumper wire for system stability and DVI-type cables configured for your channel count (1–16 cameras with 4-port audio, 1–8 cameras with 4-port audio, or 1–4 cameras with 4-port audio — verify cable variant at order). Requires ATI Radeon X600/NVIDIA 6200 VGA (PCI variant) or ATI Radeon X1300/NVIDIA GeForce 7300 PCI-E (PCI-E variant) for display output. DirectX 9.0c support required.
