Geovision GV-DVI-46 DVI Capture Card
Overview
The Geovision GV-DVI-46 is a PCI-Express x4 DVI capture card designed for Geovision Combo B DVR platforms (GV-1120B, GV-1240B, GV-1480B). It connects directly to your DVR's internal PCI-E slot and provides 16 simultaneous video and audio input channels via DVI-type connectors—a single-card solution that eliminates the need for external capture hardware or separate video distribution boxes. This card is purpose-built for security integrators expanding or upgrading existing Geovision surveillance systems without replacing the entire recorder.
Compatibility
The GV-DVI-46 works exclusively with Geovision Combo B Card series (GV-1120B, GV-1240B, GV-1480B). Each DVR accepts one card in a single PCI-E slot. If you need 32 channels, two matching cards can be installed in the same system—the card in the lower slot becomes Master (channels 1–16), and the card in the higher slot becomes Slave (channels 17–32). Verify your host DVR model supports dual-card configuration and has available PCI-E x4 slots before ordering. The card operates at 800×600 resolution minimum (1280×1024 recommended for control-room displays) and supports H.264 compression for video storage.
Installation Notes
Installation requires a free PCI-Express x4 slot in your GV-Combo B DVR. Connect the supplied 1–16 DVI-type video cable to the card's video input, then connect the 1–16 DVI-type audio cable for 16-channel audio input. The hardware watchdog jumper wire must be connected as shown in the manufacturer documentation. Do not use microphones that draw power from the PC—only connect externally powered microphones. Windows driver installation is required (Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, or Server 2008/2012 32-bit or 64-bit). Minimum CPU and RAM vary by DVR model; consult your specific GV-1120B/1240B/1480B documentation for exact requirements.
