Overview
The Geovision GV-LPR is a software-based license plate recognition (LPR) and DVR integration platform designed for parking lot automation, vehicle access control, and perimeter security. It detects and recognizes vehicle plates in real time, syncs recognized plates with video evidence, and ties results to a central access control database (GV-ASManager). The GV-LPR solves the manual gate-and-log problem in unattended lots by automating plate matching against blacklists and whitelists, eliminating human bottlenecks at entry/exit lanes.
Compatibility
The GV-LPR software integrates with multiple Geovision LPR hardware sources: Edge GV-IP LPR Cameras, GV-DSP LPR edge devices, and PC-based GV-NVR/VMS platforms with the GV-LPR plugin. The USB 1 Lane license activates recognition on a single camera feed. The software runs on 64-bit Windows 10, Windows 11, Server 2016, Server 2019, and Server 2022, requiring 8–16 GB RAM and a graphics PCI-Express slot (DirectX 10 capable, 1280×1024 display minimum). The platform supports up to 255 total GV-DSP LPR, Edge IP LPR, and PC-based NVR/VMS LPR devices per system, and up to 100 concurrent web browser connections for remote monitoring and configuration.
