Description

ACTi ZNR-423 32-Channel 4-Bay Rackmount NVR

Overview

The ACTi ZNR-423 is a 32-channel rackmount NVR purpose-built for enterprise surveillance deployments requiring centralized multi-camera management in data center or server room environments. The ZNR-423 handles 160 Mbps recording throughput across all 32 channels simultaneously—meaningful for operations running continuous recording across dozens of mid-to-high-resolution feeds without transcoding bottlenecks. It ships with 4 empty drive bays, letting you spec storage to match your retention window and bitrate mix (no oversized default disks you don't need). Instant playback and 16-channel synchronized video review simplify incident investigation across large facility layouts. HDMI and VGA outputs enable both modern displays and legacy monitoring setups on the same unit.

Compatibility

The ZNR-423 works with any ONVIF-compliant IP camera across ACTi's own product line and third-party manufacturers (Axis, Dahua, Hikvision, Uniview, etc.). Plug-and-play discovery via the built-in DHCP server eliminates manual camera registration for small-to-medium camera counts. Remote access and video export via USB support both real-time monitoring from off-site and evidence export workflows. Audio channels are supported if your camera fleet includes microphones or line-level audio inputs.

Installation Notes

Requires standard 19-inch rack space (2U form factor assumed from rackmount designation). DC 12V power input—confirm your facility has regulated DC supply or plan UPS-backed DC conversion from your existing AC infrastructure. No PoE power delivery on this unit, so cameras must be powered separately (PoE injectors, PoE switches, or direct power). Mount securely to prevent vibration-induced disk wear; confirm rack load distribution if stacking additional units. Network connection via Gigabit Ethernet for 160 Mbps throughput; 100 Mbps connectivity will bottleneck multi-channel 1080p+ streams.
