Description

ACTi ZNR-224 32-Channel 2-Bay Rackmount NVR

Overview

The ZNR-224 is a 32-channel rackmount network video recorder purpose-built for data center and enterprise surveillance deployments requiring centralized video management. This 2-bay unit integrates into standard server racks, delivering 192 Mbps recording throughput across all 32 channels — the throughput you need to handle simultaneous multi-camera ingest without bottlenecking storage writes. Deep Learning analytics (DLPU) runs at the edge, meaning object detection, people counting, and behavioral rules execute on the recorder itself rather than offloading to external servers — a practical advantage when you're managing dozens of camera streams and want actionable alerts without latency.

Compatibility

The ZNR-224 accepts standard IP camera feeds via ONVIF-compliant protocols and integrates with enterprise VMS platforms supporting ONVIF Profile S/T. It outputs video via both HDMI and VGA ports, accommodating both modern displays and legacy monitor infrastructure common in legacy control rooms. Audio input/output and digital I/O (DI/DO) ports allow integration with door contacts, sirens, and two-way intercom systems. The unit operates on DC 12V power, typical for rackmount surveillance environments with centralized power distribution.

Installation Notes

The ZNR-224 is a 2-bay unit — storage disks are not included. You will need to source and install two SATA or SAS drives separately, sized to your retention policy and recording bitrate. The rackmount chassis occupies standard 19-inch rack space and requires standard 12V DC power input from your facility's UPS or power supply infrastructure. Confirm rack depth and thermal clearance before installation — active cooling is required for continuous 32-channel operation. Configure network connectivity to your surveillance VLAN to isolate camera traffic from general IT infrastructure.
