Overview

The PSI5-500SRT1ULIN is a 500VA/450W line-interactive UPS built around a lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery — a direct answer to the recurring cost and downtime of VRLA battery swaps in edge IT closets, telecom rooms, and distributed security infrastructure. At 8.85 inches deep and 1U tall, it fits shallow network racks where a standard 15-to-18-inch UPS won't. The unit ships with an RDU120 network management card already installed, so SNMP, Modbus, and BACnet remote monitoring are available on day one without sourcing a separate card. Pure sine wave output protects sensitive electronics that variable-frequency approximations can damage — relevant if you're powering managed PoE switches, NVR appliances, or access control servers. Runtime is 20 minutes at half load (225W) and 9 minutes at full 450W — sized for orderly shutdown cycles, not extended blackout ride-through.

Compatibility

Designed for any 2-post or 4-post rack accepting a 1U 17.28-inch-wide chassis, as well as freestanding tower deployment. Wall-mount is supported. The four NEMA 5-15R outlets accommodate standard IT and security equipment without adapters. The Liebert IntelliSlot bay accepts RDU120 (included) and other Vertiv IntelliSlot cards for protocol expansion. USB port enables direct UPS-to-server shutdown communication with compatible UPS management software on Windows, Linux, and macOS. Input voltage range of 75–150VAC handles browndowns and swells without switching to battery — important in older facilities with unstable utility power. Output voltage is 120VAC by default with 100/110/115/125VAC user-selectable to match load requirements. Operates from 32° to 104°F (0° to 40°C) with no derating across that range.

Installation Notes

Mounting ears are included for rack installation; tower orientation requires no additional hardware. Hot-swap battery design means battery replacement does not require a maintenance window or load transfer — a practical advantage in always-on security environments. Batteries are user-replaceable, keeping service calls off the critical path. An EPO (emergency power off) connector is present for facilities requiring hardwired emergency shutdown integration. Energy Star certification satisfies green-building and data-center efficiency requirements without additional documentation.
