The PSI5-800SRT2ULI is Vertiv's 800VA/720W short-depth lithium-ion UPS from the Vertiv Liebert PSI5 series — purpose-built for edge IT closets, distributed surveillance infrastructure, and shallow-depth rack cabinets where a conventional lead-acid UPS won't physically fit. At under 12 inches deep, it slides into tight spaces that standard 2U UPS units cannot occupy. Pure sine wave output on battery protects sensitive electronics and active-PFC power supplies from waveform-related shutdowns. The LiFePO4 battery chemistry carries an 8–10 year design life, which means you won't be pulling and replacing batteries every 3–4 years the way you would with VRLA — a meaningful reduction in lifecycle maintenance cost for distributed deployments with many sites. Runtime is 20 minutes at half load (360W) and 9 minutes at full 720W draw — enough for a graceful shutdown or short outage bridge on a network UPS rack protecting NVRs, switches, and access control panels. Six NEMA 5-15R outlets give you coverage for multiple edge devices simultaneously. The gravity-sensing LCD display auto-orients whether the unit is racked horizontally or standing vertically as a tower, so the same hardware works in both orientations without reconfiguration. Input accepts 75–150VAC, providing ride-through on browndowns and overvoltages before switching to battery. Output voltage is selectable (100/110/115/125VAC) to match regional equipment requirements. Connectivity includes USB for direct host shutdown integration plus an optional IntelliSlot bay for a network management card, enabling SNMP monitoring, remote shutdown, and environmental alerting across a larger managed power infrastructure. Standards compliance covers UL 1778 5th Ed, UL1973 3rd Ed, and CSA C22.2 107.3-14.
The PSI5-800SRT2ULI is compatible with any 120VAC equipment drawing up to 720W total. Typical loads include edge NVRs (4–16 channel), PoE network switches, access control servers, and small server or storage appliances. The NEMA 5-15R outlets are standard North American receptacles, compatible with most rack-mounted and desktop IT equipment shipped for the US market. The optional IntelliSlot network card slot accepts Vertiv's IntelliSlot family management cards (sold separately) for integration with SNMP-based NMS platforms and VMware vCenter. EPO (Emergency Power Off) input supports building-level power management wiring. The 2U form factor fits any standard 19-inch EIA rack. Tower orientation requires no mounting hardware — the unit stands independently.
Depth is 11.81 inches (300mm) — verify rack clearance before ordering, particularly in wall-mount enclosures and shallow IT closets where depth constraints are the deciding factor. Unit weight is 18.5 lbs; a second person or lift is advisable for overhead rack positions. Operating temperature range is 32°–104°F (0°–40°C); do not install in unventilated enclosures or ambient environments exceeding 104°F, as lithium-ion thermal management depends on adequate airflow. EPO wiring follows standard dry-contact normally-closed configurations — confirm with the building's facilities team before connecting. Input voltage range (75–150VAC) eliminates the need for an external line conditioner in most North American utility environments.
