The PSI5-800SRT2ULIN is Vertiv's Liebert PSI5 Lithium 800VA/720W short-depth UPS built for edge IT closets, distributed network nodes, and security infrastructure racks where a full-depth unit won't fit and battery longevity matters. At 11.81 inches deep, it slides into shallow 2-post telecom racks or wall-mount enclosures that reject standard 18–24" units. The LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) chemistry is the core differentiator here: lithium-ion batteries carry a 10-year design life versus 3–5 years for VRLA, survive wider operating temperature swings without derating, and ship air-freight without hazmat restrictions — meaningful when you're deploying to remote branch closets or edge sites. The unit includes a Vertiv Liebert RDU120 network management card out of the box, eliminating the $200+ add-on cost typical of competing lines. Pure sine wave output (not simulated) protects active PFC power supplies in modern servers, NVRs, and PoE switch arrays from the waveform distortion that trips over-current protection. At 98.4% efficiency in online double-conversion mode, it generates less heat than legacy UPS designs — a real factor in compact enclosures with limited airflow.
