The SX3016F is a 16-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet aggregation switch built for high-speed optical fiber backhaul in enterprise data centers and distributed surveillance deployments. Each port runs 10 Gbps over SFP+ connectors, delivering 320 Gbps total switching capacity — sufficient to feed dozens of PoE access points or consolidate camera streams across multiple sites without oversubscription. Dual redundant power supplies (100–240 V~, 50/60 Hz) eliminate single points of failure; failover is automatic. The unit is 1U rack-mountable steel, consuming 32.3 W typical at full load, making it suitable for server rooms with modest thermal headroom.
The SX3016F pairs with TP-Link's Omada ecosystem — access points, PoE switches, and controllers. It integrates with both cloud-based (via the Omada app) and on-premises Omada SDN controllers, as well as standalone management via CLI, SNMP, and RMON. The switch supports IEEE 802.3z (1000BASE-X Gigabit Ethernet) and IEEE 802.3ae (10GBASE-SR/LR 10G Ethernet) fiber standards, meaning it works with any standards-compliant SFP+ optic module. Two console ports (RJ45 and Micro-USB) allow direct access for troubleshooting or zero-touch provisioning (ZTP). No firmware or driver dependencies — this is a pure Layer 2+ switch.
Requires 19-inch rack rails (standard EIA). Operating temperature range is −5 °C to 45 °C (23 °F to 113 °F); keep ambient below 45 °C to avoid thermal throttling. The switch generates up to 45.1 dBA at 100% load in a 45 °C environment, typical of high-speed aggregation hardware — plan ventilation accordingly. SFP+ optics (SR for short-range, LR for long-range) are sold separately; sourcing Single Mode fiber modules is common for data center spine roles. All fiber connections must be polished and tested before insertion to avoid transceiver damage. Supports VLAN, ACL, QoS, ERPS (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching), OAM, and static routing for intelligent traffic steering — no scripting required for basic failover ring topologies.
