The EAP723 is a ceiling-mounted dual-band Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) access point designed for enterprise deployments requiring high-density coverage and fast roaming between nodes. It delivers 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 4320 Mbps on 5 GHz—the wider bandwidth and 4K-QAM modulation reduce latency and packet loss in dense client environments, critical for mobile device handoff and real-time applications across large facilities like warehouses and multi-floor offices.
The EAP723 includes one 2.5G RJ-45 ethernet port, enabling faster backhaul to your wired network backbone than standard Gigabit. It supports both 802.3at PoE+ (power-over-ethernet) and 12VDC via adapter (sold separately), giving you flexible deployment options depending on your existing infrastructure. The 2.5G port reduces bottlenecks when multiple access points feed a central PoE switch.
Built-in MU-MIMO and beamforming focus signal toward connected devices rather than broadcasting omnidirectionally—this improves range and penetration through walls and metal shelving common in warehouse automation environments. Band steering automatically pushes capable clients to the less-congested 5 GHz band. Load balancing distributes traffic across 2.4 and 5 GHz, and airtime fairness prevents slow clients from starving fast ones. Seamless roaming enables devices to move between EAP723 nodes without dropped connections, essential for mobile picking and scanning workflows.
Centralized management via Omada SDN Controller and mobile app streamlines provisioning and monitoring across multiple access points without per-device configuration. This scales efficiently in large deployments and simplifies troubleshooting when coverage gaps or performance dips occur.
Verify your PoE switch can supply 802.3at on the uplink port and that 12VDC adapter power is available if using that option. Confirm ceiling mounting clearance—4 internal antennas perform best with unobstructed line-of-sight to client devices. The EAP723 integrates with existing TP-Link Omada infrastructure; it is not compatible with non-Omada switching or controller platforms.
