The EAP653 is a compact ceiling-mount Wi-Fi 6 access point designed for dense indoor deployments where PoE power simplifies cabling and reduces infrastructure cost. It combines 574 Mbps at 2.4 GHz and 2,402 Mbps at 5 GHz, enabling simultaneous multi-band operation without channel congestion in high-density environments like warehouses, offices, and retail facilities. 802.3at PoE (up to 30W) eliminates the need for separate power drops, shortening installation time and reducing conduit runs.
Dual-band operation with 160 MHz channel width: Wider channels on the 5 GHz band increase per-stream throughput and reduce latency for time-sensitive applications like real-time inventory scanning or warehouse automation systems. MU-MIMO and Airtime Fairness: Multiple clients transmit and receive simultaneously without waiting for each other, critical when dozens of mobile devices or scanners associate to a single AP. Band Steering and Load Balance: Automatically moves clients to less-congested bands and distributes load across multiple APs, preventing single points of congestion. Beamforming: Directs signal energy toward connected devices rather than broadcasting omnidirectionally, extending effective range and reducing dead zones in large floor plans.
The EAP653 integrates with the Omada SDN Controller for centralized provisioning, client visibility, and firmware management across multiple sites. The Omada mobile app supports on-site troubleshooting and real-time signal monitoring without a separate management workstation.
Ceiling mount form factor requires consideration of dropped ceiling height, plenum space, and cable routing. Two internal antennas mean orientation matters—position the AP centrally within the coverage zone for balanced signal distribution. Verify 802.3at PoE availability on upstream switch; devices requiring higher power will not function.
