Overview
The STI-1229 is a strobe-only protective dome assembly with Type 4X enclosed back box rated NEMA 4 for outdoor and harsh indoor environments. It mounts directly over strobe light sources on warning appliance systems, protecting the lens and internal components from weather, dust, and physical contact while preserving light transmission. The clear polycarbonate dome centers the light output—critical for maintaining strobe effectiveness across distributed alarm system networks.
Compatibility
Fits AMSECO strobes and colored-lens assemblies (SL24W-153075 series at 22% light transmission). The dome is designed for existing STI warning appliance product lines and integrates with spacer and mounting hardware supplied in the package. Confirm your strobe appliance model against the AMSECO family before ordering; the STI-1229 is strobe-only and not compatible with audible horn or combination audible/strobe units.
Installation Notes
Mount using the six supplied #10 × 1.5-inch screws and rawl plugs, drilled into concrete or solid mounting surface at 3/16-inch diameter, 1-inch depth. Center the clear dome section over the strobe lens to minimize light loss; misalignment reduces transmission and compromises alarm signal visibility. The STI-1229 must be installed per NEC, NFPA 72, and local electrical codes. For added environmental protection in corrosive or wet conditions (coastal salt spray, high-moisture industrial spaces), order the optional SUB-123 Enviro Kit, which includes six additional #8-32 × 3/4-inch socket head cap screws and adhesive-backed gaskets. The enclosed back box prevents water and debris ingress behind the dome while allowing power and wiring access.
