Overview

The STI-1215 is a protective dome assembly designed to guard horn, speaker, and strobe warning appliances in flush-mount installations. NEMA 4 rated, it provides weather resistance for outdoor deployments while maintaining acoustic and light transmission to the protected device. The dome fits standard warning appliance mounting footprints and installs directly over the existing equipment using included hardware.

Compatibility

The STI-1215 is compatible with AMSECO horn and strobe models, including the SL24W-153075 series and AMSECO-colored lens variants. Verify your specific warning appliance model against the manufacturer's compatibility documentation before ordering — the dome is sized for flush-mount horns and strobes with standard mounting patterns.

Installation Notes

Installation requires six 3/16 in. (4.7 mm) diameter holes drilled 1 in. (25 mm) deep into the mounting surface. The kit includes six rawl plugs, gaskets, four #10 × 1.5 in. mounting screws, six washers, and six #8-32 × 3/8 in. socket head cap screws. A clear acrylic section must be centered over strobe light lenses to minimize light transmission loss — off-center placement degrades strobe visibility. For added environmental protection in harsh conditions, order the optional SUB-123 Enviro Kit, which supplies six additional #8-32 × 3/4 in. socket cap screws. Installation must comply with applicable NEC, NFPA 72, and local electrical codes. The dome may be installed outdoors only when the protected appliance carries an outdoor rating.
