Overview
The STI-1225 is a clear protective dome designed to shield strobe-only warning appliances from physical damage and environmental exposure. Install this flush-mount cover when you need to protect a strobe light source without obstructing its flash output. The dome centers over the strobe lens to preserve light transmission and meets NEMA 4 outdoor-rated construction — meaning rain, dust, and salt spray won't degrade the assembly or block the optical path. This is the correct choice when your strobe appliance already carries outdoor certification and you're adding mechanical protection per NEC/NFPA 72 code compliance.
Compatibility
The STI-1225 is engineered for STI strobe warning appliances and compatible with AMSECO strobe models, including colored lens variants (AMSECO SL24W-153075 series). Confirm your existing strobe's outdoor or indoor rating before installation — the dome itself is rated for exterior use, but the underlying appliance must also support outdoor mounting. Flush-mount configuration means the dome sits flat against the wall or surface without stand-offs, making it suitable for recessed or surface-mounted warning appliance installations.
Installation Notes
Mount using the six (#8-32 socket head cap) screws and washers provided. Drill six 3/16-inch holes, 1 inch deep into the mounting surface, and insert the supplied Rawl plugs. The gasket between cover and spacer prevents water ingress. Spacer dimensions are 2.87 inches (73 mm) on the cover and 1.62 inches (41 mm) on the spacer itself. For enhanced environmental protection in corrosive or high-moisture conditions, order the optional SUB-123 Enviro Kit, which includes additional socket head cap screws (6× #8-32 × 3/4 inch) and adhesive-backed gasket material. Installation must comply with applicable NEC, NFPA 72, and local fire codes. Center the clear section directly over the strobe light lens to avoid light loss — off-center mounting reduces flash visibility.
