STI STI-1229HTR Stopper® Dome Heated Enclosure for Strobe
Overview
The STI-1229HTR is a NEMA 4X heated protective dome designed for outdoor strobe appliances where environmental exposure and freezing conditions threaten optical clarity and function. It houses the strobe light while maintaining a clear sight path for full luminous transmission. The heated enclosure prevents condensation and ice buildup in cold climates — a real problem when a strobe must trigger reliably year-round in humid coastal or northern installations. This is a strobe-only unit; it does not house control modules or other warning appliance components.
Compatibility
Fits STI strobe warning appliances rated Type 4X. The dome mounts over the existing strobe lens; the optical window must be centered over the strobe light source to avoid transmission loss. Compatible with AMSECO colored lens inserts (model SL24W-153075 referenced in documentation) if colored strobe output is required. Not compatible with audible (horn/siren) appliances — strobe-only deployment only.
Installation Notes
Mount horizontally to the wall or surface using the six supplied rawl plugs and socket head cap screws (#8-32 x 3/8 inch). Pre-drill six 3/16-inch holes, 1 inch deep at the marked template locations. Install must comply with NEC, NFPA 72, and local electrical codes for warning appliance placement. The clear protective window must be centered over the strobe lens to prevent light loss; misalignment degrades transmission. For enhanced environmental protection in severe moisture or salt-spray conditions, order the optional SUB-123 Enviro Kit, which includes gasket seals and additional fasteners. Dome may be installed outdoors only if the underlying strobe appliance carries an outdoor rating.
