Overview
The NT-SS002-EN is a nocontact infrared switch built into 304 stainless steel faceplate — designed to eliminate touchpoints in healthcare, public facilities, and commercial buildings where hygiene is non-negotiable. The slim mullion mount configuration fits narrow door frames, while the integrated back box houses the relay and wiring. Operating at 12VDC with a Form C dry contact (0.5A @ 120VAC, 1A @ 24VDC), it integrates directly into standard access control and door lock circuits without requiring a dedicated controller.
Compatibility
Works with any 12VDC or 24VDC access control system, door release mechanism, or electromagnetic lock that accepts a dry contact relay closure. The stainless steel housing handles interior and exterior mounting on aluminum, steel, or wood door frames. Back box design supports retrofit installations on existing mullions without frame modification — faceplate is oversized to conceal old installation marks. Compatible with standard exit devices, magnetic locks, and electronic strikes that draw under 0.5A @ 120VAC or 1A @ 24VDC.
Installation Notes
Infrared sensor detection range is 1.5–6 inches (4–15 cm, ±25% tolerance). Adjustable relay latch delay runs 0.5–20 seconds — tune hold time to match your door closer and traffic pattern. Operating temperature range 14°F to 70°C (−10°C to 70°C); do not install in unheated exterior spaces below 14°F. IP65 rating protects against spray, rain splash, and dust — suitable for weather-exposed mullions but not for direct submersion. Mechanical relay rated 1M cycles; infrared sensor rated 100,000 hours. State indicator LED (red/green or green/red, selectable) signals standby and active states — useful for troubleshooting sensor misalignment or relay hang-up on-site. Current draw: 45mA max (standard), 35mA max (slim model).
