STI NT-SS001-EN Contactless Switch with Infrared Detection
Overview
The STI NT-SS001-EN is a hands-free contactless switch built for public buildings, healthcare, and high-traffic facilities where reducing germ transmission is a priority. It uses NoTouch® infrared detection to trigger door release without physical contact — users wave their hand 1.5 to 6 inches in front of the device and the sensor unlocks the door. The switch is housed in medical-grade 304 stainless steel, rated IP65 for splash resistance, and mounts in a slim or mullion configuration with an integrated back box for flush installation against door frames or vertical mullions.
Compatibility
The NT-SS001-EN outputs a Form C dry contact relay (0.5A @ 120VAC, 1A @ 24VDC) that integrates with any electronic strike, magnetic lock, or access control system accepting a 12VDC or 24VDC input signal. Back box and slim-profile mounting fit standard North American door frames and mullion widths. Faceplate is oversized to cover existing installation marks, making it suitable for retrofit applications where old hardware has left marks or gaps.
Installation Notes
Operating temperature range is 14°F to 158°F (−10°C to 70°C). Power draw is 45mA maximum at 12VDC (35mA on slim model); confirm your power supply or access control panel PoE circuit can handle that load. Detection range is adjustable across the 1.5 to 6-inch window (±25% variance expected). Adjustable relay latch time from 0.5 to 20 seconds lets you tune the door-release pulse to match your strike or lock timing. IR sensor is rated for 100,000 hours of operation; mechanical relay contacts are rated 1,000,000 cycles. One-year manufacturer warranty covers electromechanical and electronic components.
