Description

Middle Atlantic PDT-1415C Vertical Rack Power Distribution Unit

Overview

The Middle Atlantic PDT-1415C is a 14-outlet vertical rack-mount power distribution unit from the PDT Series, built for AV and security equipment racks where horizontal power strips waste valuable 1U slots. The PDT-1415C mounts vertically along the rear rail of a standard equipment rack, keeping all 14 NEMA 5-15R outlets accessible without consuming rack unit space. A 15-amp circuit breaker provides overcurrent protection — if a connected load trips the breaker, you reset at the unit rather than hunting for a panel. Onboard surge protection guards downstream gear against transient spikes on shared circuits, a real concern in mechanical rooms and data closets where HVAC and lighting share the electrical panel. The 9-foot, 14 AWG input cord on a NEMA 5-15P plug gives enough reach to route cleanly to a wall outlet or UPS without cable strain.

Compatibility

Designed for standard 19-inch equipment racks that support vertical accessory mounting — compatible with Middle Atlantic ERK, WRK, MFTR, and similar open-frame and enclosed rack series that include rear vertical mounting channels. Also fits third-party racks with standard vertical rail spacing. The 14 NEMA 5-15R outlets accommodate standard three-prong plugs on NVRs, PoE switches, access control panels, IP intercoms, and other low-to-mid draw rack equipment. Each outlet handles loads drawing from a shared 15-amp circuit, so confirm your aggregate connected load stays within that budget — 14 outlets at full draw will exceed the breaker, which is expected behavior on a 15A circuit.

Installation Notes

Low-profile form factor at 59.5 x 4.0 x 1.58 inches mounts flush against rear verticals without obstructing cable management. Verify your rack has rear vertical mounting rails or accessory channels before ordering — open-frame racks without rear rails require a separate mounting bracket. Route the 9-foot input cord to a dedicated 15A outlet or UPS; avoid daisy-chaining to another PDU or extension cord.
