Overview

The Middle Atlantic PDT-2X1015 is a vertically-mounted rack power distribution unit built for high-density AV and security equipment racks where horizontal real estate is too valuable to dedicate to power strips. Twenty outlets split across dual independent 15A circuits give you load isolation between sensitive gear — run surveillance recorders on one circuit, active networking on the other, and a tripped breaker on one side won't drop everything in the rack. The aluminum chassis mounts vertically along the rack rail in a thin profile that keeps the full rack depth available for equipment, and the bottom-mounted J-Box termination routes your facility wiring cleanly into the unit without exposed conductors running up the outside of the rack. The included 9 ft NEMA 5-15P power cord handles standard 15A wall circuits, with 12 AWG wiring throughout to handle sustained current draw without voltage drop across the full 37.75 in length of the unit. Black powder-coat chassis with orange outlets makes circuit identification fast during installs and service calls.

Compatibility

The PDT-2X1015 fits vertical-mount equipment racks from Middle Atlantic's own line — including the ERK, BGR, and WRK series — as well as standard EIA-310 compliant racks from other manufacturers that accept full-height vertical power accessories. The 37.75 in overall length fits standard 45U rack heights with clearance. The NEMA 5-15P plug is compatible with standard 15A North American branch circuits; the J-Box termination supports hard-wired installations where local code requires direct conduit connection. This unit is suited for NVR and server rack builds, security operations centers, and AV equipment bays where dual-circuit load balancing is required. It is not rated for 20A circuits — use a PDT variant with NEMA 5-20P cord for 20A branch circuit installations.

Installation Notes

Mount vertically along the rack rail using the integrated mounting ears — confirm your rack accepts vertical power accessories before ordering, as some shallow-depth wall-mount enclosures do not provide the side-rail clearance needed. The bottom J-Box ISO ground configuration supports isolated ground wiring, which reduces noise coupling into audio and low-voltage signal equipment sharing the rack. Route the 9 ft NEMA 5-15P cord to the nearest 15A receptacle, or use the J-Box for hard-wired conduit runs per local electrical code. Divide loads intentionally across both 15A circuits — keep total draw per circuit under 12A continuous (80% NEC rule) to avoid nuisance tripping.
