Description

Middle Atlantic PDT-2020TL-NS 20-Outlet Thin Vertical Power Strip

Overview

The PDT-2020TL-NS is a flush-mount vertical power distribution unit from the Middle Atlantic PDT series designed for high-density rack installations where horizontal real estate is at a premium. It provides 20 NEMA 5-20R outlets on a single 20-amp circuit — enough to power a fully loaded rack of network gear, cameras, or AV equipment without a separate power tap or piggyback strips. The twist-lock NEMA L5-20P input plug locks into matching receptacles on matching UPS or power conditioning units, preventing accidental disconnects in environments with cable movement or vibration. At 73.13 inches tall and only 2.13 × 2.1 inches in cross-section, the PDT-2020TL-NS is built for vertical flush-mounting inside standard rack enclosures — it disappears into the side channel and leaves your U-space free for active equipment.

Compatibility

Designed for Middle Atlantic rack enclosures and any standard 19-inch or telco-style open-frame rack with a vertical mounting channel that accommodates a 2.13-inch-wide strip. The NEMA L5-20P input requires a matching L5-20R receptacle on the upstream power source — confirm your UPS, PDU, or wall outlet is L5-20R before ordering; a NEMA 5-20R straight-blade source requires an adapter or a different PDT variant. The 9-foot cord suits most rack installations with overhead or floor-level power drops, but measure your run before committing. Compatible with Middle Atlantic rack systems including the ERK, RK, and WMRK enclosure families that accept vertical power mounting.

Installation Notes

Mount vertically flush inside the rack side channel using the integrated mounting hardware. The 73.13-inch height spans most full-height rack enclosures — verify your cabinet's interior usable height before installation. The twist-lock plug requires a firm quarter-turn to seat; confirm the upstream receptacle is de-energized before making the connection. Total load across all 20 outlets must not exceed 20 amps (2,400W at 120V) — plan your device draw against this ceiling, accounting for startup surge on motors and switching supplies. Unit weighs 7 lbs; secure the mounting bracket at top and bottom to prevent flex under load.
