Overview

The PDT-1415C-NS is a vertical-mount, 14-outlet power distribution unit from Middle Atlantic's PDT Series, built for 19-inch open-frame and enclosed equipment racks. It runs 120V AC at 15A — enough to feed a full rack of security appliances, NVRs, encoders, or network gear from a single branch circuit. The low-profile 4.0" x 1.58" chassis occupies minimal rack width, so it mounts cleanly in the zero-U vertical channel of standard rack enclosures without displacing horizontal rack units. The 9-foot, 14 AWG power cord reaches floor-level PDUs or in-rack UPS units without extension cables. A built-in 15A circuit breaker provides overcurrent protection, tripping before the upstream breaker and protecting connected equipment from a fault elsewhere on the strip. Steel chassis construction holds up in demanding AV and security equipment rooms where cheaper plastic units crack or warp over time.

Compatibility

Designed for installation in Middle Atlantic's own rack enclosures — including the ERK, WRK, and BGR series cabinets that include vertical power channels — but compatible with any standard 19-inch open-frame or enclosed rack that provides a vertical mounting rail or zero-U power channel. Works with any equipment drawing from NEMA 5-15R outlets at 120V: NVRs, PoE switches, video encoders, access control panels, intercom servers, and similar rack-mounted power distribution loads. The 7-duplex outlet configuration (14 receptacles on 7 duplex modules) spaces outlets to accept most standard equipment plugs without adapters. Compatible with Middle Atlantic rack accessories and cable management systems in the same series.

Installation Notes

Mount vertically in the zero-U channel of the rack enclosure — the 59.5" height spans a standard 42U rack frame. Input is a NEMA 5-15P male plug; verify the upstream circuit or UPS unit provides a matching NEMA 5-15R or 5-20R receptacle. Total connected load must not exceed 15A (1,800W at 120V) — budget approximately 80% of that (1,440W) for continuous operation per NEC derating guidelines for continuous loads. No tools required beyond standard rack hardware for the mounting brackets. The steel chassis ships in black finish; confirm rack color match if aesthetics matter in a client-facing installation.
