Kantech KT-8DE4-WTA Pre-Wired Access Control Enclosure
The Kantech KT-8DE4-WTA is a factory pre-wired 4-door access control enclosure designed to cut installation labor and timeline compression on multi-door deployments. All internal wiring arrives factory-installed and terminated — the integrator mounts the backplate, connects AC input, and wires door strikes to marked terminals. No internal harness assembly required.
Overview
This is a UL-listed all-in-one power and control enclosure pairing integrated LifeSafety Power battery management with Kantech KT-1-PCB/2/4 access controllers on a removable backplate. Input accepts 120VAC or 230VAC at 50/60Hz, supporting 4-door control loops with selectable 12VDC or 24VDC output for lock and auxiliary power. The prewired configuration eliminates custom field wiring and reduces installation error surface — critical when deploying across multiple sites on a timeline. Operating range is 32–122°F, suitable for indoor enclosure mounting in offices, retail, and light commercial environments.
Compatibility
This enclosure is purpose-built for Kantech KT-1-PCB/2/4 series controllers and LifeSafety Power battery modules. It integrates with Kantech ProWire access control systems supporting card readers, credential management, and emergency door release logic. The factory-installed wiring harness connects directly to KT controller relay outputs and lock power distribution — compatible only with Kantech ecosystem integrations. If your site uses third-party access panels or non-Kantech controllers, this enclosure will not interface without external rewiring.
Installation Notes
Mounting uses predrilled backplate holes on standard 19-inch or wall-mount surfaces. Supply 120VAC or 230VAC power to the factory-terminated input terminals; do not exceed rated amperage per the backplate label. Lock and auxiliary outputs are fused — verify fuse ratings match your strike requirements before commissioning. The enclosure includes an onboard fire alarm interface (FAI) for centralized emergency door release on fire trigger. Operating temperature limits (0–50°C) mean avoid placement in uncontrolled outdoor or unheated spaces. All internal connections are point-to-point documented — field integrators receive wiring diagrams with terminal identification for quick commissioning and future service calls.
