The LTEM-PA is an LTE-M alarm communicator designed to transmit alarm signals and monitoring data from Honeywell VISTA control panels to AlarmNet monitoring stations via AT&T's CAT-M1 cellular network. It replaces traditional landline or broadband-only reporting with dual-path connectivity—LTE primary, Ethernet fallback—ensuring the control panel reaches the central station even if broadband drops. Deploy this where cellular signal is reliable and you need to retire copper-line dependencies or add redundancy to existing Ethernet connections.
The LTEM-PA connects directly to Honeywell VISTA control panels via ECP (Ethernet Control Panel) or Bus connection. It is part of the LTEM-P modular communicator family alongside the Verizon-based LTEM-PV. Both models support optional plug-in modules: the PROWIFIZW module adds Wi-Fi and Z-Wave capability; the PROLTE LTE CAT-1 module provides enhanced cellular features; and the PRODCM Dialer Capture Module integrates with panels sending Contact ID signals via dialer. Only one internet path (Ethernet or Wi-Fi) is active at a time; cellular is always available as primary or fallback.
The LTEM-PA uses AT&T's LTE CAT-M1 technology—designed specifically for IoT devices with superior signal penetration underground and within structures compared to standard LTE. Data is transmitted to Resideo AlarmNet 360 for central station routing. Ethernet (10Base-T, 10 Mbps) provides the wired backup path; Wi-Fi (via optional PROWIFIZW module) offers additional flexibility without requiring new cabling. Dual-path setup means the panel never loses reporting capability if one connection method fails. Integration with Resideo Total Connect 2.0 Remote Services allows end-user web access to the control panel when enabled by the dealer via the AlarmNet 360 programming portal.
Mount the communicator near the control panel for ECP or Bus connectivity. Verify AT&T LTE CAT-M1 coverage in your service area before commissioning—coverage is widespread but not universal. If Wi-Fi redundancy is required, install the PROWIFIZW module at the time of initial setup; swapping modules after deployment requires panel reconfiguration. Ethernet connection does not require module addition. Test both primary and fallback paths before handing off to the central station.
