Description

Comnet FVR1031S1 Digitally Encoded Video Receiver/Data Transceiver

Overview

The FVR1031S1 is a 1-channel video receiver and data transceiver designed to extend analog surveillance video and RS-232/422/485 serial data over a single singlemode fiber run. This unit receives digitally encoded video transmitted from a paired Comnet encoder, making it the receive end of a fiber-based video backbone in security installations where copper runs introduce ground loops, EMI, or distance constraints. The 10-bit digital video path preserves forensic-grade detail without analog degradation, and the integrated RS data channel handles device control (pan/tilt, lens commands, sensor settings) over the same fiber span—eliminating the need for separate serial cables or additional fiber pairs.

Compatibility

The FVR1031S1 pairs with Comnet's 1-channel video encoders in the FVT series (such as the FVT1031 or equivalent single-channel transmitters). It is compatible with any analog CVBS (composite video) source: analog dome cameras, bullet cameras, PTZ units, or legacy analog matrix switchers. On the data side, it supports any device or system requiring RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 control—including analog PTZ controllers, lighting systems, access control interfaces, or serial-based industrial equipment. The receiver connects to analog monitors, hybrid DVR analog inputs, or video distribution equipment on the destination end. Verify your encoder model number and fiber run length (singlemode extends up to 40+ km depending on launch power) before ordering.
