Description

Comnet FVRDT10M1 Video Receiver with Return Data

Overview

The Comnet FVRDT10M1 is a single-channel video receiver designed to accept analog video and serial data over multimode fiber optic cable. This unit converts incoming optical signals back to standard analog video (NTSC, PAL, or SECAM) and reconstructs RS-232/RS-422 control channels. Deploy it at the receive end of long-distance fiber runs where conventional coax would introduce unacceptable signal loss—typical for video surveillance systems spanning multiple buildings, industrial campuses, or infrastructure installations requiring electrical isolation and immunity to EMI.

Compatibility

The FVRDT10M1 pairs with Comnet fiber optic transmitters in the same product line that send video and return data across multimode fiber (ST connector). The receiver accepts NTSC, PAL, and SECAM video signals and restores RS-232 and RS-422 serial control paths, making it compatible with analog camera systems, matrix switchers, DVRs, and multiplexers that use these video standards and serial protocols. Verify your transmitter model sends data on the same fiber pair before ordering.

Installation Notes

Mount the unit in a standard 19-inch rack (full-size) or on a wall/surface using the supplied bracket. Connect the ST multimode fiber optic cable from your transmitter to the receiver's input port. Attach standard BNC connectors for analog video output and D-sub connectors for RS-232/RS-422 return data. Ensure fiber runs do not exceed the maximum distance rating for your specific transmitter model (consult the paired transmitter datasheet). This device does not require external power; optical-to-electrical conversion occurs at the receiver.
