Camden CX-ED1079DL Standard Depth Electric Strike
Overview
The CX-ED1079DL is a standard-depth electric strike sized for 5/8" to 3/4" latch projection — the correct choice when your door frame geometry doesn't accommodate a low-profile unit. Grade 1 ANSI A156.31 certified, it delivers 1,500 lbs static hold force and 70 ft-lbs dynamic strength to manage traffic-heavy doors in commercial buildings. Field-selectable 12/24V AC/DC operation and fail-safe/fail-secure switching mean you wire it once and configure it at install without swapping components. Horizontal body adjustment compensates for typical frame tolerances, reducing shimming labor.
Compatibility
Designed for cylindrical locksets on hollow metal, aluminum, and wood door frames. Integrates into access control systems via wired 12/24V DC signals — compatible with conventional hardwired control panels and relay-based door control modules. Latch monitoring option (SPDT contact, 100mA @ 24V DC) provides position feedback to the access control panel. No network or IP connectivity; this is a hardwired strike for installations using traditional wired access control architecture.
Installation Notes
Draws 260mA @ 12V AC/DC or 150mA @ 24V AC/DC — verify your control panel's auxiliary relay output can supply the required current (typically a 2A relay contact handles both). AC operation produces an audible buzz; DC mode is silent. Factory-tested to 1,000,000 cycles; UL verified to 500,000 cycles — use continuous duty without concern for cycling limits. Three stainless steel faceplates included (CX-ESP1B, CX-ESP3B, CX-ESP4B); optional black architectural finish faceplates available separately. Trim plate and easy-fit wire connectors included for faster termination. Body dimensions: 4-7/8" L × 1-7/8" W × 1-3/8" D.
