Camden CX-ED1079D Standard Depth Grade 1 Electric Strike
Overview
The Camden CX-ED1079D is a Grade 1 standard depth electric strike rated for 1,500 lbs static hold force. Built for hollow metal, aluminum, and wood door frames, it handles 5/8" to 3/4" latch projection and delivers continuous duty operation across networked access control deployments. The CX-ED1079D supports 12/24V AC/DC voltage selection and field-selectable fail safe/fail secure modes, eliminating the need for separate SKUs when your installation requirements change mid-project.
Compatibility
Works with cylindrical locksets in standard frame depths. The strike is non-handed and accepts latch monitoring via SPDT contact (100mA @ 24V DC), enabling real-time door position feedback to your access control system. Three stainless steel faceplates (CX-ESP1B, CX-ESP3B, CX-ESP4B) are included; black architectural faceplates (BHMA 622, US19) are available separately if your door frame finish requires it. Integrates with networked access control platforms supporting traditional 24V solenoid strikes.
Installation Notes
Horizontal body adjustment accommodates frame variations without remachining. Strike body draws 260mA @ 12V AC/DC or 150mA @ 24V AC/DC—verify your power supply and relay capacity before commissioning. AC operation produces an audible buzz on energization; DC mode is silent. The unit is factory-tested to 1,000,000 cycles and UL-verified to 500,000 cycles, so expect 5–10 years of service in medium- to high-traffic facilities. Easy-fit connectors simplify field wiring; a trim plate is included.
