Overview
The Axis 01216-001 is a dedicated white LED illuminator purpose-built to extend camera visibility in low-light and nighttime surveillance. Powered entirely via PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at), it eliminates the need for separate power infrastructure — a meaningful simplification on retrofit jobs or sites where power runs are already constrained. Beam distance reaches 110 meters (360 feet), covering everything from narrow perimeter spotlights to wide-angle parking lot fill-in lighting. Four interchangeable diverging lenses (10°, 35°, 60°, 80°) let you dial in the exact coverage footprint without repositioning hardware.
Compatibility
Designed for integration with Axis network camera installations. Mounts as a pendant unit via a single 3/4-inch opening (probe-dependent installation). Pairs with any Axis camera system where supplemental white light improves forensic image quality — particularly effective for perimeter security, building entrances, parking facilities, and industrial yards where ambient light is insufficient for detail-grade footage.
Installation Notes
Single-piece pendant unit threads through a standard 3/4-inch opening. No mechanical moving parts — pure electronic design eliminates jam points and wear-out risk. Operates reliably across –50°C to +50°C (–58°F to +122°F), handling harsh outdoor and industrial climates. IP66 rating seals against direct rain and dust; IK09 impact resistance handles physical abuse from equipment or environment without cracking the polycarbonate housing. Draws power exclusively from PoE+, so verify your PoE switch has sufficient remaining budget before deployment — typical PoE illuminators consume 20–30W depending on lens and beam intensity setting.
