Overview
The ACTi Z47 is an 8MP motorized zoom bullet camera built for outdoor surveillance where you need fine detail across variable distances without swapping lenses or adding cameras. The 2.8–12mm lens (4.3× zoom, 99.8° to 31.1° horizontal field of view) lets you frame subjects from wide area coverage to tighter identification shots from a single mount point. IP67 and IK10 ratings mean dust, direct rain, and impact won't sideline the camera — essential for industrial perimeters, coastal sites, loading docks, and high-traffic outdoor areas. H.265 and H.264 codec support optimizes bandwidth based on your network; WDR handles sun-blasted facades and shaded entry points in the same frame; adaptive infrared (IR) ensures continuous monitoring through darkness. PoE (802.3af) power eliminates dedicated electrical runs, making retrofit deployments faster and cheaper. The Z47 integrates with standard ONVIF-compatible NVR systems and IP surveillance platforms, and remote zoom/focus control via network access means you can adapt framing without site visits.
Compatibility
The Z47 works with any ONVIF Profile S or ONVIF Profile T-compatible network video recorder or video management system that supports H.265/H.264 streams. Typical deployments include Milestone Xprotect, Axis Camera Station, Hanwha SmartVMS, Uniview, and Hikvision platforms. PoE power requires standard 802.3af PoE injectors or PoE-capable switches; verify your switch has sufficient budget (Z47 draws under 13W at full zoom and night vision). The bullet form factor mounts on walls, poles, and ceiling brackets using standard weatherproof hardware.
Installation Notes
The Z47 housing is metal (accounts for IK10 rating), so use non-corrosive stainless or plated fasteners in coastal or salt-spray environments. Motorized zoom and autofocus add complexity compared to fixed-lens cameras — test focus range before final mounting to confirm your depth of field covers the critical subjects. Auto-focus function aids installation calibration but can be disabled once set. Operating temperature range is -40°C to 60°C (-40°F to 140°F); verify thermal performance in your climate zone, especially if mounting in direct sun or in extremely cold locations. The compact bullet profile keeps visual footprint low but ensure mounting angle does not exceed normal pitch/roll constraints for the bracket type you select.
