Overview
The ACTi A423 is a 6MP motorized zoom bullet designed for outdoor perimeter and wide-area surveillance where you need optical magnification without resolution loss. The 5x zoom lens (2.7–13.5mm) lets you frame subjects at distance—critical for parking lots, building facades, and entry corridors where fixed focal lengths force you to choose between wide coverage and detail capture. Its 150dB extreme WDR handles mixed lighting (sun-blasted areas adjacent to shadows) without halo artifacts or washout. IR LED (850nm, 85m range) extends operation into complete darkness at 0.003 lux minimum illumination. Rated IP68 (dust and water immersion proof) and IK10 (impact resistant), the A423 survives vandal-prone and harsh-weather deployments across −40°C to +60°C operating range.
Compatibility
The A423 integrates into any ONVIF-compliant VMS platform (Profile S, G, T, M support). It connects via single 10/100 Base-T Ethernet port with RJ-45 pigtail connector. PoE++ (802.3bt) Class 3 powers the zoom motor and IR array at up to 95W; legacy DC 12V or PoE Class 3 (802.3af) backup inputs are supported. H.265, H.264, and MJPEG compression allow bandwidth optimization across mixed-bandwidth networks. Deep Learning-based people and vehicle detection (DLPU) and video motion detection (VMD) trigger alerts in third-party platforms supporting ONVIF event schemas. Audio input (2-way, line-in/line-out) integrates ambient sound capture for incident verification.
Installation Notes
Mount via pole or corner-mount accessories (sold separately). Lens adjustment spans pan 0°–355°, tilt 0°–90°, and full 360° rotation for repositioning without remounting hardware. Electronics cooling is passive; ensure airflow around the lens barrel in direct sun. 95W PoE++ demand requires IEEE 802.3bt-capable switches or injectors—standard PoE injectors (13W budget) will not support zoom and IR simultaneously. RJ-45 pigtail connector requires weatherproof termination or pre-terminated cables in outdoor installations.
