Description

ACTi A42 5MP Zoom Bullet Camera

Overview

The ACTi A42 is a 5MP outdoor bullet camera built around a 2.8x optical zoom lens (3.6–10mm) and 30m infrared illumination — purpose-built for perimeter and wide-area surveillance where you need flexible framing without dedicated PTZ complexity. The A42 handles extreme weather (IP66 dust/water sealing, IK10 impact resistance with metal casing) and temperature swings from −30°C to +50°C, making it viable for rooftops, pole mounts, and exposed fence lines. At 0.003 lux minimum illumination in color mode, the camera operates in near-total darkness with IR enabled. WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) balances exposure in high-contrast scenes—critical for doors with direct sun and shadowed entries. Video encodes in H.265, H.264, and MJPEG, allowing bandwidth optimization across your network infrastructure. Power delivery is dual-path: PoE+ (802.3at Class 3) for single-cable installation, or DC 12V adapter for legacy system integration. ONVIF Profile S/T/Q compliance ensures VMS and third-party software compatibility. Built-in analytics (VMD, People Counting, Smoke Detection) enable event-driven recording without external processors. Audio input (mic-in, line-in, line-out) supports synchronized voice capture for access control scenarios. GPS position tagging and manual configuration are included for geographic metadata on recordings.

Compatibility

The A42 integrates with any ONVIF-compliant VMS (Video Management System) supporting Profile S, Profile T, or Profile Q standards. Standard 10/100 Base-T Ethernet (RJ-45 pigtail connector) connects to managed or unmanaged PoE switches and injectors. Mounting accessories support pole and rack installations, accommodating diverse perimeter and elevated placement scenarios. For systems requiring legacy DC 12V supplies, standard adapter operation is available (adapter not included in the box). Audio integration works with two-way intercom systems and access control platforms that accept line-level or mic-level inputs. Zoom adjustment and IR control are available via Pelco-D, Pelco-P, and ACTi URL command protocols for integration with third-party PTZ controllers or command-driven automation.
