Overview

The ACTi A821 is a 6MP outdoor zoom dome designed for fixed-position surveillance where optical zoom flexibility and extreme weather sealing are non-negotiable. The 5x optical zoom lens (2.7–13.5 mm focal length) lets you frame subjects at multiple distances without returning to site, delivering 6MP detail across wide (102°) to narrow (34.5°) horizontal fields of view. Deploy this where you need a single camera to cover both entry gates and perimeter fencing, or where you want to zoom in on evidence without re-installing hardware. IP68 and IK10 ratings mean complete dust/water ingress protection and resistance to heavy impact—essential for loading docks, outdoor transit hubs, or rooftop installations. The A821 operates reliably from -40°C to 60°C, so arctic cold and desert heat pose no performance penalty.

Compatibility

The A821 integrates with any ONVIF-compliant VMS—Milestone, Genetec, Bosch, and others—via standard IP connectivity. ONVIF Profile S, G, T, and M support ensure vendor-neutral interoperability without proprietary client software. PoE+ (Class 3, 802.3at) powers the camera over standard Ethernet cabling; verify your switch or injector supplies at least 15.4W at the port. Single RJ-45 pigtail connector simplifies wiring. The board-mount lens accepts standard dome optics accessories. Audio line-in and line-out ports support two-way intercom or ambient monitoring integration with access control systems.

Installation Notes

Mount on wall, pole, pendant, corner bracket, or rack using the included mounting plate. Pan (0–355°), tilt (0–75°), and rotation (0–355°) adjustments allow fine-tuning after install without lens removal. The 2.82 kg weight requires secure anchoring in high-wind environments—verify mounting hardware rated for IK10 impact loads. Operating temperature range (-40°C to 60°C) is wide; confirm heater/blower accessories if site peaks exceed 60°C.
