ACTi A422 4MP Zoom Bullet Camera

The ACTi A422 is a 4MP outdoor zoom bullet designed for fixed-position surveillance where you need optical zoom flexibility without swapping lenses. It delivers edge-to-edge detail via 5x optical zoom (2.7–13.5mm), maintaining 4MP resolution across the zoom range — critical when you need to identify subjects at distance without sacrificing wide-area coverage on the same shot.

Overview

Built for harsh outdoor deployment, the A422 combines weatherproofing (IP68 rating prevents ingress from rain, dust, and submersion), vandal resistance (IK10 impact rating), and extreme low-light capture (0.003 lux color minimum; full IR LED array at 850nm reaching 85m). The extreme WDR (150dB) handles high-contrast scenes—direct sun on a loading dock with deep shadows—without halo or loss of forensic detail in either bright or dark zones. The motorized 5x zoom lens supports pole and corner mounting, simplifying retrofits on existing infrastructure. Operating range of -40°C to +60°C ensures performance in arctic cold storage and desert heat without image degradation.

Compatibility

The A422 integrates into any ONVIF-compliant VMS (Milestone, Axis Camera Station, generic ONVIF systems). It supports ONVIF Profiles S, G, T, and M—covering discovery, streaming, PTZ, and metadata. H.265, H.264, and MJPEG compression ensure backward compatibility with legacy recorders while optimizing bandwidth on modern systems. Audio input (line-in, line-out) pairs with two-way communication for integration into access control or intercoms. Manual GPS tagging supports multi-site geolocation workflows. Deep learning analytics (DLPU) and video motion detection (VMD) trigger recordings based on object/motion events, reducing storage footprint on 24/7 deployments.

Installation Notes

Single 10/100 Base-T Ethernet port (RJ-45 pigtail connector) supplies power via PoE++ (802.3bt Class 3)—drawing sufficient power to operate without a separate DC 12V supply on compliant switches. Alternatively accepts DC 12V for dedicated power runs where PoE is unavailable. Weight of 3.11 lb (1410g) is light enough for pole mounting without reinforcement. Pan 0–360°, tilt 0–90°, rotation 0–360° allow fine framing adjustment post-install. Four configurable privacy mask regions support regulatory masking (sensitive windows, doors) without VMS-side processing overhead.
