Overview
The PD-815SC-PBSH is a slim, high-density 8-outlet power distribution strip from the Middle Atlantic PD Series — designed specifically for shelf-mount installations where a standard 1U rack strip won't seat cleanly. Running on a single 15A circuit with a 10 ft SignalSAFE power cord, it handles the power demands of a typical AV or security equipment shelf without requiring a dedicated rack space. MOV surge and spike protection plus EMI filtering keep sensitive electronics from absorbing line noise — relevant in environments sharing circuits with HVAC, lighting dimmers, or other inductive loads. A built-in 15A circuit breaker provides local overcurrent protection without requiring a trip to the panel. Outlets are spaced to accommodate plug-in power supplies (wall-wart style bricks), which is a practical detail that most generic strips overlook and one that matters when you're powering multiple IP cameras, access control readers, or intercom power adapters off a single shelf unit.

Designed for use with Middle Atlantic equipment shelves and fixed shelving in standard 19-inch rack enclosures. Pairs directly with Middle Atlantic's rack enclosure and credenza series — including the BGR, ERK, and WMRK families — where shelf-mount power is the preferred configuration over horizontal rackmount strips. Compatible with any shelf-mount application requiring a 120V / 15A single-circuit power strip. Not intended for rackmount-only 1U applications; the slim form factor is optimized for mounting beneath or behind equipment on a shelf surface rather than occupying a rack unit. Suitable for use with PoE switches, NVRs, or analog video equipment staged on open or enclosed shelving in security head-end closets and AV equipment rooms.
Installation Notes
Mount orientation is shelf-surface — the unit is not designed for vertical or overhead installation. The 10 ft SignalSAFE cord provides enough reach for most rack-adjacent outlet placement; verify your outlet location before installation. The 15A circuit breaker resets manually; position the strip where the breaker is accessible after mounting. Confirm the host circuit is rated for the aggregate load of all connected devices before commissioning.
