The Middle Atlantic PD-815RA-PL is a 1U rackmount power distribution unit delivering 120 VAC at 15A across 8 rear-facing NEMA 5-15R outlets — purpose-built for AV, security, and IT equipment racks where clean, protected AC distribution matters. The 15A onboard circuit breaker means a local overcurrent trip won't require a trip to the panel, keeping downtime contained. Basic surge protection and EMI filtering are included, which reduces conducted noise on the power rail — relevant when NVRs, switches, and encoders share a rack. The 2.8m power cord gives enough slack for most telecom cabinet and enclosed rack deployments without requiring an extension. Front-panel LED provides an at-a-glance power status confirmation without opening the rack door.
Compatibility
The PD-815RA-PL fits any standard EIA 19-inch rack occupying 1U of vertical space. It is a natural fit for security equipment racks housing NVRs (Hanwha WRN/QRN series, Axis S-series, Hikvision DS-9600NI series), PoE switches (Ubiquiti UniFi, Axis D8004-V), and supporting AV or access control gear (Axis A8207-VE, Lenel/Honeywell panels). The 8 × NEMA 5-15R rear outlets accommodate standard IEC-to-NEMA cordsets used on most rack-mount NVRs and managed switches. The 15A rating supports up to approximately 1,800W of connected load — size your per-outlet draw accordingly to stay within circuit limits.
Installation Notes
Mount horizontally in any open 1U slot; rear-facing outlets keep cable routing away from the front of the rack. The 15A circuit breaker is panel-side reset — confirm your upstream circuit is also 15A (do not share with other high-draw loads). EMI filtering is passive and requires no configuration.
