Description

ATEN VW784 4-Port 4K HDMI Input Board

Overview

The ATEN VW784 is a four-port HDMI input expansion board designed for ATEN VW-series video wall processors. If your current input count is maxed out and you need to add HDMI sources — content servers, media players, or additional signal feeds — the VW784 slots into the processor's modular bay to extend capacity without replacing the host unit. Each of the four ports handles signals up to 4096x2160 or 3840x2160 at 60Hz with full 4:4:4 chroma sampling, meaning color fidelity stays intact for graphics-heavy content like dashboards or broadcast feeds. Maximum cable run per port is 3 meters, so plan source placement close to the processor rack.

Compatibility

The VW784 is built for ATEN VW-series video wall controllers that support modular input board expansion — confirm your specific VW-series model accepts input board modules before ordering. It is not a standalone device and will not function outside a compatible VW processor chassis. If you are running a mix of HDMI and other signal types, ATEN's VW series supports additional input board variants for those interfaces.

Installation Notes

The board seats into the processor's input bay — rack-mounted installation. Keep signal sources within 3 meters of the chassis; exceeding this distance risks signal integrity loss at 4K/60Hz. Operating humidity tolerance is 0–80% RH non-condensing, so avoid installations in environments with condensation risk. Firmware v1.1.103 (released 2025-02-19) is available for the VW784; update via the host processor's management interface to ensure compatibility with current VW-series software. If you are sourcing input boards in quantity, the VW784 ships in carton lots of four units — factor this into procurement planning to avoid partial-carton freight costs.
