The CNFE2004S1A consolidates two copper Ethernet lines into a single single-mode fiber run—a practical solution when you need to extend surveillance camera or network feeds beyond the 100-meter copper limit without running parallel fiber strands. Two 10/100 BASE-T electrical ports feed into one 100 BASE-FX optical output, allowing you to multiplex signals or deploy split fiber runs back to a head-end switch or NVR.

This is a hardened media converter rated to NEMA TS-1/TS-2 traffic and industrial standards, covering -40°C to +75°C operation—relevant if you're installing in roadside cabinets, warehouses, or unheated shelters. The SC connector variant (CNFE2004S1A) accepts standard single-mode patch cords; the 20 km (12 mi) reach on single-mode fiber eliminates repeaters across most campus or inter-facility links. Auto-negotiation on both copper ports handles 10 or 100 Mbps, full or half duplex, without manual configuration.
