ATEN CS1922M 2-Port USB 3.0 4K DisplayPort KVMP Switch
Overview
The CS1922M is a 2-port KVMP switch that lets a single keyboard, mouse, and DisplayPort monitor control two computers — without replugging cables. It targets workstation environments where two systems share one 4K display: dual-workstation AV editing bays, operator consoles running both a Windows management PC and a dedicated surveillance NVR, or engineering desks with a primary workstation and an isolated secure machine. The CS1922M supports video up to 4096 x 2160 @ 60 Hz and 2560 x 1440 @ 144 Hz, so you get full 4K resolution on a single-cable DisplayPort run or 1440p at high refresh for motion-critical monitoring. Port switching is available via front-panel pushbuttons, hotkey sequences, mouse triggers, or RS-232 commands — meaning it can be integrated into automated console-switching scripts or rack management workflows without physical access. The built-in USB 3.1 Gen1 hub (one port on the front panel, one on the rear) passes peripherals at up to 5 Gbps, so a shared external SSD or USB capture device doesn't bottleneck at USB 2.0 speeds.
Compatibility
Works with any computer equipped with a DisplayPort output and a USB Type-A or USB Type-B interface — compatible with standard desktop workstations, rack-mounted servers with discrete GPUs, and mini-PCs used as NVR or VMS hosts. The DisplayPort interface is compatible with DP 1.2 and later sources capable of 4K @ 60 Hz output. The USB keyboard and mouse interface is USB HID-class, requiring no special drivers on Windows, Linux, or macOS hosts. RS-232 command switching is compatible with serial port controllers and rack management systems that support serial console scripting. Installation Notes
Rack-mount form factor — note that ATEN expresses physical dimensions in L x W x H order for rack products, not the standard W x D x H convention; verify panel depth against your rack before ordering. The scan interval for auto-switching is configurable from 1 to 99 seconds (default 5 seconds) via hotkey. Operating humidity limit is 0–80% RH non-condensing — unsuitable for unconditioned outdoor enclosures or high-humidity server rooms without climate control. Firmware is field-upgradeable; current release is v1.1.107 (2023-12-07), available as a zip package for both CS1922M and CS1924M.
