Description

Middle Atlantic UFA-14.5 1RU Universal Rack-Mount Shelf

Overview

The Middle Atlantic UFA-14.5 is a 1RU universal fixed shelf designed to mount small devices — cable converters, media players, DVRs, small UPS units, or rack accessories — inside a standard 19-inch equipment rack. At 14.5 inches of usable depth and a 25 lb weight capacity, the UFA-14.5 handles most compact components without consuming multiple rack units. The 1.75-inch usable interior height accommodates low-profile devices that don't carry their own rack ears, making this shelf the practical answer when you need to house a component that wasn't designed for direct rack mounting.

Compatibility

Fits any standard 19-inch open-frame or enclosed equipment rack with a vertical inside mount configuration. Two mounting points secure the shelf to standard rack rail pairs. The 14.5-inch depth pairs well with Middle Atlantic rack enclosures in the same depth class — particularly shallow-to-mid-depth wall-mount and floor-standing cabinets. Works with any rack accessory or small device up to 25 lbs and within 14.5 inches of depth. Not suitable for full-depth servers, 2RU+ chassis, or devices requiring ventilated or vented shelving.

Installation Notes

Mounts via 2 points to standard rack rails — verify your rack uses EIA-standard 19-inch rail spacing before ordering. The shelf ships as a single unit (package count: 1) with a black finish that integrates cleanly into dark rack interiors. Shipping weight is 2.5 lbs; plan accordingly for overhead or wall-mount rack load calculations. Usable interior height is 1.75 inches — measure your device before assuming fit. The 14.5-inch usable depth matches the nominal depth exactly, so cable routing behind the device requires either a deeper rack or careful cable management on the shelf rear.
