Overview

The Middle Atlantic UFA-8-F1 is a 1U steel rack shelf designed for mounting compact devices — DSPs, small receivers, media converters, and similar low-profile equipment — in standard 19-inch EIA racks. At 8 inches of usable depth and a 35 lb weight capacity, the UFA-8-F1 suits light-duty installations where a full-depth shelf wastes space or blocks airflow behind shallower units. The included faceplate gives the 1U opening a finished appearance when the shelf is only partially populated, keeping rack layouts clean in client-facing or AV-integrated installs. Black powder-coat steel construction keeps it compatible with both standard open-frame racks and enclosed rack cabinets from Middle Atlantic's rack and enclosure line.

Compatibility

Fits any standard 19-inch EIA rack with 1U spacing — compatible with Middle Atlantic ERK, BGR, and PD series enclosures, as well as third-party open-frame and enclosed racks conforming to EIA-310 rail spacing. The shelf mounts via two rack points (standard ear-mount, no center support required), making it straightforward to drop into existing rack builds. Usable interior height is 1.75 inches — verify clearance if stacking equipment with protruding connectors or rear cable management. At 8 inches of usable depth, it is well-matched to small form-factor devices; deeper equipment should route to a full-depth or mid-depth shelf in the same family. Not intended for hard drives, heavy amplifiers, or other equipment exceeding 35 lbs.

Installation Notes

Mounts to rack rails at two points using standard M6 or 10-32 rack screws (not included — match to your rack's rail thread). Shelf slides in vertically from the front; the faceplate is pre-installed on the 1U panel. Confirm rear rail spacing before ordering if installing in a non-standard enclosure. Shipping weight is 2.5 lbs — factor into total rack load calculations for floor-standing or wall-mount enclosures with weight limits.
