Description

ATEN UCE60 USB Extender UP TO 200 Ft.

Overview

The ATEN UCE60 is a remote unit designed to extend USB 2.0 connections up to 200 feet (60 meters) over a single Cat5e/6 cable. This device is crucial for deployments where a USB peripheral needs to be located significantly farther from the host system than standard cable lengths allow, such as integrating devices into rack-mounted server environments or extending access to USB-powered equipment in industrial settings. The UCE60 supports USB 2.0 Full Speed and Low Speed devices, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of peripherals like keyboards, mice, and barcode scanners.

Compatibility

This remote unit is designed to function with a compatible ATEN UCE60 host unit (sold separately) to create a full USB extension system. It supports USB 2.0 Full Speed (up to 480 Mbps) and Low Speed (up to 1.5 Mbps) devices. It is suitable for extending connections to various USB peripherals commonly used with rack-mount servers, industrial PCs, and surveillance DVR/NVR systems where physical proximity is a constraint.

Installation Notes

The ATEN UCE60 operates within a humidity range of 0–80% RH (non-condensing). For certain rack-mount products, standard physical dimensions are expressed using an LxWxH format. The UCE60 requires a Cat5e or Cat6 cable for extension. Optional power can be supplied via a DC jack on the remote unit if the connected USB device requires more power than the bus can supply.
