Overview
The ATEN CE924 is a HDBaseT 2.0 KVM extender designed to extend USB and dual DisplayPort signals up to 100 meters (330 feet) over a single Cat6a cable. This unit enables remote access and control of a computer from a distant console, ideal for environments requiring centralized management or where the host computer must be located away from the user's workstation due to space, security, or environmental concerns. The CE924 specifically supports dual 4K resolutions at 30Hz, making it suitable for workstations demanding high-definition dual-monitor setups without compromising on detail, provided the refresh rate requirement does not exceed 30Hz.
Compatibility
This extender is designed to work with computers featuring DisplayPort video outputs and USB connectivity. It requires a companion receiver unit (CE924R is the receiver function of this transmitter unit) for the remote console. The CE924 is compatible with ATEN's HDBaseT 2.0 KVM extender series. It does not support MST (Multi-Stream Transport) mode, meaning each DisplayPort output must be driven by a separate DisplayPort stream from the source computer. Ensure your source computer's graphics card can output independent signals for dual displays at the desired resolution and refresh rate.
Installation Notes
The CE924 utilizes a single RJ-45 connector for HDBaseT transmission, requiring a Cat6a cable for optimal performance up to 100 meters. It is designed for operation in environments with 0–80% relative humidity, non-condensing. A firmware upgrade is managed via a slide switch, and a wakeup button is provided for initiating connection. Note that while it supports 4Kx2K (3840x2160) at 30Hz, it does not support 4Kx2K at 60Hz or 4:2:0 color sampling. For higher refresh rates or 4K@60Hz, consider other ATEN extender models.
