The TL-SL1218MP is a 16-port unmanaged PoE switch purpose-built for mid-scale surveillance deployments and warehouse automation networks. It delivers 802.3af/at PoE to all 16 ports (up to 30W per port, 192W total budget) while the two Gigabit uplinks handle backbone traffic to your NVR or core infrastructure. No configuration required—plug cables in, apply power, and it works. This is the right pick when you need to power and network 12–16 IP cameras, wireless access points, or networked warehouse readers without the complexity of managed switching.
The TL-SL1218MP works with any standard PoE-compatible device: IP cameras (Axis, Hikvision, Uniview, and other 10/100 Mbps models), wireless access points, IP phones, networked label printers, and door readers that accept 802.3af or 802.3at power delivery. The two Gigabit RJ45 ports and two combo Gigabit SFP slots connect to your network backbone—uplink to a core switch, NVR, or PoE injector infrastructure for multi-switch cascades. Unmanaged operation means no VLAN, QoS, or spanning-tree configuration; it handles plug-and-play deployments only.
Unmanaged switches require no configuration—power on and patch cables do the work. Ensure uplink ports connect to your backbone to prevent broadcast loops if deploying multiple switches. The 16 10/100 ports are sufficient for standard-resolution and lower-megapixel camera streams; high-resolution (4MP+) or heavy analytics loads on all 16 ports simultaneously may saturate bandwidth—consider a managed switch or dedicated backbone for dense high-res deployments. Operating temperature range is 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F); the unit includes two internal fans for thermal management. The Extend Mode reaches 250m for PoE power and data transmission, solving long-run installations where traditional PoE injectors would fall short. Priority Mode ensures high priority for ports 1–8, protecting quality-sensitive traffic like video monitoring.
