Description

TP-Link TL-SL1218MP 16-Port 10/100Mbps + 2-Port Gigabit Unmanaged PoE Switch

Overview

The TL-SL1218MP is an unmanaged network switch with 16 ports running 10/100 Mbps and 2 uplink ports at Gigabit speed. This configuration solves the deployment constraint of integrating mid-scale PoE camera systems and networked warehouse devices (label printers, access readers, wireless access points) without requiring managed switching overhead. The two Gigabit ports handle backbone traffic to your NVR or core network infrastructure, while the 16 10/100 ports deliver sufficient bandwidth for standard definition and lower-megapixel IP camera streams in modest-scale installations.

Compatibility

The TL-SL1218MP works with any IP camera or network device that accepts standard Ethernet and PoE power delivery via 802.3af or 802.3at. It is vendor-neutral and compatible with wireless access points, network video recorders, and other 10/100 Mbps networked endpoints. The Gigabit uplinks support high-throughput connections to core switches or dedicated PoE injector infrastructure if cascading is needed.

Installation Notes

Unmanaged switches require no configuration—patch cables, power supply, and deployment. Ensure the uplink ports are wired to your backbone network segment to avoid broadcast loops in larger multi-switch environments. The unit is backorder status as of the current date.
