Description

TP-Link TL-SG1005P 5-Port Gigabit PoE+ Desktop Switch

Overview

The TL-SG1005P is a 5-port unmanaged network switch with 4 integrated PoE+ ports delivering up to 65 watts total power budget. This form factor fits desk-side, cabinet-edge, or temporary monitoring deployments where you need to consolidate power and data to multiple PoE devices without a managed switching layer. Desktop steel case with passive cooling — no fans, no configuration interface.

Compatibility

The TL-SG1005P supports any IEEE 802.3af or 802.3at (PoE+) powered device: IP cameras drawing up to 30W per port, wireless access points, VoIP phones, and edge analytics appliances. The single non-PoE Gigabit port accommodates uplink to a core switch or network recorder. All five ports operate at 1 Gbps full duplex.

Power and Deployment Notes

The 65W power budget caps PoE load across all four ports — not 65W per port. This means a mix of medium-draw devices (e.g., two 30W cameras and two 10W APs) will saturate the budget. If you plan to run four simultaneous high-power cameras (25W+ each), overload protection will throttle or disconnect ports. Suitable for small surveillance zones, perimeter camera clusters, or temporary field installations. For larger multi-camera arrays, consider a 120W or 240W managed PoE switch. AC wall-powered only — no battery backup or UPS integration.

Installation

Plug and play — no IP assignment, VLAN tagging, or spanning-tree configuration required. All ports learn and forward automatically. Place on a shelf or mount to a wall bracket (hardware not included). Passive thermal design suits 0–40°C environments; verify ambient temperature before deployment in harsh or outdoor-adjacent locations.
